Highlight of our trip
My wife and I wanted to stay in Amalfi overnight on a recent tour of Italy and chose this hotel based on reviews. We were not disappointed. It is in the center of town and easily reached from the large bus stop on the waterfront. The sign is on the building facing the water. Just walk thru the white arch, across the street and on the right just before the square, up a small flight of stairs is the hotel. Is is very clean with a flare of the past. We stayed on the square side facing the church. It was great. It has the location, location. I will stay there again on any return. It would be my choice for any price, but the rates were good to boot.
Go across the street and take a early bus to Ravello just above Amalfi to the Villa Rufalo. Ravello is a unique mountain top village with no cars. It overlooks the coast from the top and was a special treat. it only takes half an hour, It only cost a few euros and there are frequent buses. It is a very special p[lace indeed.

A little pricy for what you get
This is an ok hotel, but it is a little expensive for what you get. Essentially you are paying for location. We had a standard double bedroom which overlooked the marina and which therefore had spectacular views. However be warned, due to its location, it is very noisy during the Summer season. You might love the hustle and bustle, but if you are seeking peace and quiet, this may not be the best hotel to book. The room was ok, but the double bed was in fact two singles pushed together. The balcony was a lovely feature, however it is a shame that it was too small to swing a cat on. Finally, dont expect much in the way of breakfast unless you like cake.
Traveller's tip on dining
Amalfi has some lovely restaurants and of course wonderful food. I rate the fish as the best but many restaurants are very expensive. Take the time to look around the back streets and side allies as there you will find the restaurants catering for the locals with excellent food and significantly lower prices.

Not much for the money....
Hotel is in a great location, but price is too much for what you get. No A/C or Fans available, night staff was rude, and rooms were sparse.
