An iconic hotel, this wondrous place has undergone a face lift since my last visit and has maintained its beautiful facade. For a high-end hotel it is exceptional. Service is beyond wonderful: from the check-in clerk accompanying us to our room to show us around, to a request as to what hour of the day we wanted the room cleaned and the bed turned down. Lots of movie stars wandering around as well -- unplanned dividend. Minor quarrel: at these prices they should offer free wireless internet, but they charge for it. Valet parking is also off-the-charts expensive, but you really need a car unless you hire a limo or everyone comes to see you.

Eat in the downstairs coffee shop. Lots of local color.

Fabulous Hotel!
Never before have we experienced such a high level of service--it was exceptional. Of course, the hotel is beautiful, the room was VERY nice, and especially worthy of comment is the fact that the bed was the most comfortable ever, with the highest-quality linens, etc.
