Lovely hotel for a quiet and relaxing time
we spemd a relaxing 9 nights here in September. Our room was large, very clean and provided in the room in addition to the usual items were slippers, flip flops, torch, umbrella abd beach towels. The views from the room out to sea through the palm tress were lovely. The hotel is in a very quiet location. There are a few local restaurants 10-15 mins walk along the beach or road towards Nathon The hotel restaurant is fine but obviuosly slightly more expensive. The hotel provides a coutesey minbus to Nathon in the afternoon and to the Chewang in the evning (they charge for the return trip from Chewang). whilst we were ther the pool area was very quiet, we usually had it to ourselves. Samui is geting very developed around the coast and having driven around the island we felt that the Samui was in the nicest spot we had seen.
Traveller's tip on nightlife
If you want a lively holiday with lots of bars and night life the Amanda is NOT the place for you. Car and cycle hire at the hotel is good value

Excellent resort but quite
The Amanda resort was really nice and the staff were friendly,Nice pool which was great as you couldn’t swim at the beach as the water was too shallow. This is a quite resort with nothing much around it,if you want nightlife the other side of the island would be best. Breakfast was ok nothing to write home about but, the evening menu was excellent.the resort also ran a bus to the nearest local town and also to the other side of the island and it was really cheap.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
The Amanda was on the right side of the island for seeing a great sunset.
