Very Spanish all round!!

This hotel is a little hard to find as the signage is not yet in place, but they talked us in (in broken English but a good heart!). You have to take your own luggage to and find your room, but then we found an extremely spacious family room with a great view. It could easily have slept another person (we are 2 + 2 tots). The pools are uncrowded and very clean. No scramble for sunbeds either. Everywhere seemed clean and spacious. Food was fine, and plenty of it. Watch out though - we flew into Faro where there is no time difference to the UK, then drove to Cartaya. It was only after 3 days we found out that Spain is an hour different, and we met others who’d been there longer and were still unaware - so were late for kids clubs, meals, entertainments. How frustrating - a clock at reception would have solved this. However, most visitors by far were Spanish, which we loved, as it made it far less ’touristy’ and made us all (including our two year old) try out our Spanish! Nice beaches too, and a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.

Traveller's tip

Check the time - Portugal is the same as the UK, but Spain is an hour different, so if flying via Faro, watch out!
