Beyond expectations
The hotel was very well set out, clean and in excellent order. Although only two of us went, our flat could have easily slept 4 with two balconies and a little hallway inside the front door there was ample space for all our gear. Kitchen work surface was small but adequate and brushes, brooms, mop and vacuum cleaner were all there for us to use at the end of the stay to avoid a cleaning bill. Only negative was despite numerous calls before our trip there was no-one to great us when we arrived, so we had to hassle some cleaners to allow us to put our bags in a room while we went into the town to wait for reception check-in to open. Hotel is situated on a hill over-looking the town and a 10 minute walk to the town center. Nearest ski shop / bakery is 5 minutes walk and the main ski lift just 7 minutes away (longer in ski boots)!
Traveller's tip on dining
St Gervais does not have a great range of dining choices of an evening, especially for vegetarians. Although the grocery stores are quite small they are adequate should you be in self catering accommodation. St Gervais would benefit from more eateries, and perhaps one or two more bars but the town is beautiful and quiet and maybe just perfect how it is. We will definitely visit again.

Brilliant - but be prepared for extras
Fantastic place to stay in what is a pretty underated resort. The appartment was a big surprise (we were upgraded to a three bedroom unit) with fantastic views of Mt Blanc. Couple of pointers for future guests. Parking is of a premium unless you pay extra for the underground car park (40 euros) so make sure you aren’t last back! Remember to take sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases or you will have to fork out 7 euros a bed for linen. The check in is from 5pm on Saturday’s and the reception is not manned much before this time, check out is 10 am and the appartment must be checked before you leave for breakages / cleanliness otherwise be prepared to forfiet your 200 euro deposit. Cleaning can be arranged using an outside contractor for 60 euros! Otherwise a lovely appartment complex and a great resort.
