Nice clean basic hotel
Very well located basic 2 star hotel directly opposite train station and handy for shopping centre. Breakfast not great, coffee / tea and bread at €7.50, better off going to one of the many local bakeries nearby for croissant and coffee.
Avoid the cafe below the hotel. Staff very rude if the tip is not right also food not great. Head for Rue de Gand for best evening restaurants in old Lille. Metro fab for getting around. There’s one every minute. Notice there are no drivers.

Hotel ok, but have stayed in better in Lille for the same price
The hotel was typical of a French Tourist Hotel, very basic with no ventilation other than the windows on a very hot weekend. Whilst other hotels in Lille are starting to understand that visitors would like to have a drink in their room, the Hotel Continental isn’t one of them. The breakfast was adequate, generally fresh, but with very little choice compared to similarly priced hotels that I have stayed in when visiting Lille.

Hidden Gem!
This little Hotel is not much more than a hostels pricing, but has the comfort of a great private room and a delicious breakfast. Its right near the Eurostar Station, and close enough to walk to all the local attractions. Also have some great restaurant / bars right outside the front door. Highjly recomended for a short stay
