Excelent value and will return
This is a colonial type hotel and provided a relaxed, friendly efficient service. Easy to get to the VA waterfront either by the hotel shuttle or car. Easy to find if driving.

Enjoyable stay
We stayed in the converted rooms of the owner so the standard was high. Parking in the hotel carpark was not possible. The shuttle service to the V&A waterfront was very useful.

The V&A restaurants can be expensive compared to the rest of SA (as are the hotels)

Excellent hotel
We stayed at the Winchester Mansions for a week in early March - fantastic place. Staff were, without exception, very friendly and helpful. The room was always immaculate without the maids being intrusive (as is so often the case). Harveys Restaurant a must for dinner whether or not you’re staying in the hotel - great food and service. We will definitely return.
Traveller's tip on dining
Sunday jazz brunch between 11 and 2 well worth it but book early as it’s popular with the locals. Also try Mama Africa on Long Street - great food and African entertainment.
