Inexpensive & Clean
The room was comfortable and clean. Nothing to write home about but inexpensive and the staff was really nice. Very Quiet.

Not impressed
The counter staff was real nice and let us check in early. However the room was the size of a closet, it had a tiny window ac unit that took all day to get the room to a reasonable temp. it was +80 in the room when the sun was out, the bathroom was really old, concrete floors in the rooms and so close to the hwy that when a truck drove by your teeth would rattle.
Comment from the hotel's management
Posted: 30-Sep-09Our Rooms are larger then most small to mid-size hotels. All rooms have floor tiles. All A/C Units are cleaned and tested weekly and immediately replaced if less then maximum cold air is released. Perhaps the guest had difficulty operating the A/C (they do have many options and modes since they are Top Line units); ALL Keys hotels must have well functioning units. Our Guest Room Double room type does face US1 on one side and on the other a pleasant pool/lawn view; these rooms are far inland from the road with bushes and flower gardens to view. Our bathrooms are small and basic but well maintained. We understand that problems can exist; and will always move our Expedia guests immediately. In this case; no one came to the Office. We appreciate the kind words for the staff and the business; and feel extremely bad that we were not able to make it right for these guests while they were here.

Cant wait to go back!
I enjoyed my stay at Coconut Cay very much. The managers and employees were so helpful and friendly that I planned my trip for one night and ended up staying an extra night. For Officers--there is a special rate!! =) They love us there. The hotel is beautiful, colorful, clean and I loved the landscaping. It was cozy and it is great for family. Everything is nearby!!! Winn Dixie, K-mart and you are in the half way point to the Key West. About two miles away look for Jerrys Charter (I think) for ski rentals. They charge $85.00 an hour which is unheard of in the keys. They go for 100 and up. I have always used Expedia for traveling and not once have I written about a hotel, but for this one, I just had to because of the exceptional hospitality. I visit the keys often and I had never experienced such exceptional service. Everytime I visit the Fla. Keys I will ALWAYS stay at Coconut Cay.
