Extremely pleasant stay
An extremely pleaseant surprise, both the room as well as the hotel in general was extremely well maintained and appeared liked everything was brand new or at least renovated just weeks ago. Space in the room was quite limited, would not recommend it to anyone above 63 or 280 lbs.

Great hotel
I was in town for the sumo tournament at the Rygoku Kokugikan which is located literally directly across the street from the Pearl Hotel. The same goes for the Ryogoku station. The hotel is great, the staff very friendly, helpful, at the reception they speak decent English, and the rooms are very clean! They have a great little restaurant with very modestly priced food, a good breakfast buffet and some vending machines are also around. In the neighborhood there are many cafes and restaurants, all super easy access. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, I actually really liked it. Slight negatives : The rooms are VERY small, no closets! I stayed for 16 nights and got used to it, but still, the rooms are TINY. Also, be prepared that the hotel has ETHERNET access in the rooms (for free though ) so be sure that your laptop has an ethernet set-up. If you, like me, happen to own a Mac Book Air, you would need to get an ethernet adapter ( cheap ) at the Apple store before ( bought mine at the Apple store in Ginza, since I came unprepared ). The hotel supplies the ethernet cable for free and the speed of the internet is great, once you have it set up. No problem whatsoever. All around I can really recommend the Pearl Hotel!
