A hot night in October
We stayed in Jurys Inn, Southampton the night before getting a ferry over to the Isle of Wight and the location was very handy for that. Once you have figured out how to get in the car park (which you have to pay for) the checking in was straight forward and we headed up in the lift to our room (531) on the fifth floor. Adequate room, clean, tidy, TV etc. All looked fine until you wake up in the night thinking you were in an oven. Unable to open the windows as traffic very noisy despite being 1am and being on 5th floor. Turned the air con temp down which did not seem to help at all. Morning time we eventually managed to turn the broken shower dial without injuring ourselves. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style, help yourself. Quantity rather than quality with bacon and sausages bit cold but bearable. Free newspapers available. Overall not bad for an internet rate of 58 GBP for 2 people which included breakfast.

Perfect for a stopover
I needed somewhere to stay between sailing and flying home, it was perfect, well located & comfortable.

Jurys Inn, Southampton. Convinient but overpriced
A nice hotel with an underground car-park which was chargeable though at a sensible cost. It niggled that it wasn’t free though. Clean and comfortable but would be expensive if not on a special deal.
