Great hotel - shame about the area!
We stayed in Naples en route back to Rome - we wish we could have found this hotel in Rome though! The hotel staff were fantastic, the hotel was very good quality for money and the breakfast was lovely. Unfortunately this is in a very down trodden part of town, although right by the station, so therefore you can get out of the area quite easily. Generally we wouldn’t advise going to Naples (as per the guide books!) - there isn’t much there we found but the hotel was a haven!

Best Hotel at the Piazza Galibardi
I spend a splendid time at the hotel. In my opinion, it is the best hotel at the Piazza value for money.

Not at all impressed with the quality of cuatomer service.
Our first impressions of this so called four star hotel was that is was clean, smart and freshly decorated. However our views quickly deteriorated when we were told on just our second day of a five night stay that the heating was broken and that there was no hot water or room heating available. We thought that this would be just a short lived problem, but we were wrong. On day two of having no hot water (and this WAS February) we spoke to the manager who promised us a discount. The problem was not resolved for another two days, nearly seeing out our total stay, and on checking out, the manager was not only not available but also (by phone) refused to give us any discount whatsoever. Had we known this we could have moved to another hotel earlier. We were disgusted at the way we had been treated. The other hotel staff were always polite, but we were also disappointed that at after 9 pm there was no one available to serve drinks or coffees in the lounge, as everyone had gone off shift for the night. Whist our room was comfortable and tidy, the carpet was heavily stained and looked decidedly grubby. The lack of heating may have been unfortunate, but no alternative temporary heating or accomodation was offered at any time. We would most certainly not stay at this hotel ever again.
Traveller's tip on dining
We would highly recommend a comfortable and very popular restaurant situated across on the other side of the Garibaldi Piazza called La Cantina Mille. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Garibaldi Piazza is an ideal central location for local trains to Pompeii, Sorrento and Herculaneum, etc.
