cheap & close to everything

Tisd hotel is considerably less than staying at a casino hotel so the luxury is also lost. However if you enjoy a short walk from Greektown, Comerica, Ford Field etc and not having to drive home intoxicated this place is for you. Honestly the beds are uncomfortable but I’d still stay there again.

good location, but thats about it

We enjoyed the proximity to Comerica Park, but that was about it. If you are looking for a posh, comfortable hotel, this isn’t for you. Its a VERY old building, our room was very small, and so was the bathroom. The bathroom window was open a crack and we couldn’t get it shut, so the room was very cold during the night. The carpet was stained and dirty and the bed (full size) was very saggy. We parked in the parking garage across the street (Detroit Opera House) and paid $10.00 up front for the event parking. In the morning we couldn’t get our car out because we didn’t have a ticket to stick in the machine! The front desk of the hotel was very helpful with that. They told us where the security office was for the parking garage, so we were then able to get the car out. Overall, the hotel is a great location if you want to be able to walk to a Tigers or Lions game, but the ammenities are poor.

Traveller's tip

If you use the parking garage across the street and pay for even parking, be sure to tell the person you’re staying overnight at the hotel!

I’d go there again

the location is great if you’re going to a tigers or lions game. the rooms could use an update but if you’re looking for an inexpensive no frills place to sleep, this is fine the service is great, everyone is very friendly and the continental breakfast was actually pretty good....make your Belgian waffles and fresh fruit were a highlight
