Noisy
This would have been the perfect hotel for a stay in Toronto if it wasnt for the construction noise coming from the underground car park. We were in Room 218 which was directly above the drilling and the room shook. We were told it wouldnt happen again, but the next evening it started up again. We were also told it wouldnt happen at the weekends, but on Saturday morning they were drilling again. We were eventually moved to the other side of the building on the fifth floor which was much better and were given a free breakfast so the hotel couldnt have done any more, but check with the hotel before you book to see if the work has been completed. It has apparently been going on since April.
If you are hiring a car, dont use the hotel car Park, drive into the public car Park (go down instead of up). It is the same car park, but you will pay approx $10 a night less. All the hotel do is validate the ticket and they take a £10 cut.

Would whole-heartedly recommend
If youre looking for a relatively cheap stay in Toronto (as we were), there is no better option than the Toroto Marriot Bloor Yorkville. The hotel offered high levels of class and sophistication throughout. You are made to feel welcome even before youve checked in. Service is wonderful. Really cant fault them on any of it. We were delayed a day, but we phoned up and they were very understanding and helpful. The location is difficult to beat. Right next to the Bloor-Yonge subway station. Get to anywhere around Toronto with ease. Theres your own little private walkway right to the station, too. All in all, as long as you dont mind hearing the subway trains from your room (which isnt as loud as you would imagine. Think cars going past a double-glazed window.) the hotel is perfect. I would stay here again if I were to ever come to Toronto again.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Buy a week pass for the TTC (the company who run the subway trains, the overground buses and the cablecars). You will be using them a lot during your stay. One pass is valid for all services run by the TTC, which service a wide area.
