they could do much better
Everything in room seemed old and worn, as if they had furnished room with used beds and furniture. Room was livable but not entirely clean.

over rated
While I believe that this hotel was clean enough for its age, it was advertised as much newer and nicer than it actually was. Bedding was worn, fixtures old. They leave a card in the room that they are keeping rates down by minimizing the amenities in the room, ie. fewer towels etc. They left only one small packet of shampoo and one little bar of soap and minimal towels and wash cloths. I was not overly impressed as it was a little less than I expected, but I was only there one night. There were people who came in and refused their room while I was checking in. So it is all about your expectations. The evening clerk was unfriendly (perhaps overworked) and the morning clerk was very kind.
