Very poor
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. First the positives, the staff were very helpful and attentive and its location on the sea front is very good. However, on arrival in my room I was shocked to find toe nail clippings from the previous occupant on the floor; the room had clearly not been vacuumed. There was an, overpowering at times, smell of drains in the room made worse if you ran the tap, for example to brush your teeth, the stench was unbearable the last night of my stay. To top the visit off I could not even watch TV on the last night of my stay as every time I moved in the room the picture on the TV started to roll and become distorted. All in all not a good stay, I certainly will not be returning to this hotel, nor would I recommend any one else to visit it.

Nice, but not great value
I stayed two nights, unbenowingly during TT practice-week. The hotel cant be faulted on cleanliness or service, but as a single traveller I was not prepared to pay the increase from GBP48 to GBP75 as TT approached. I moved round the corner to a nice B&B (The Devonian) for only GBP26 instead. As an earlier reviewer also noted, the deep rumbling noise from som piece of machinery (washing machine? Air-con?) in rooms at rear -for example room 101) is disturbing during the night and the early hours.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Tourist Information Office in the Sea Terminal has a list of available accommodation- many nice b&bs do not advertise on-line.
