very cheap and good location

We stayed for a week at Playa Park with the sole intention of getting a week away in the sun and doing nothing. This place was perfect for just that. The apartments were almost empty, maybe ten other people there throughout the week at any one time (low season, just after Easter). Pool was pretty but very cold, but i guess in the height of summer it is warmed by the sun and the cold would be welcomed as it gets so hot. Pool bar had fantastic staff and served simple very reasonably priced snacks. We stayed in a studio which was spacious and basic, we did no cooking at all so cannot comment on those facilities, but it appeared to have all that would be needed. Towels were provided but they were not at all soft, if you have room in your suitcase to take your own I’d suggest doing so (I did and my sunburn was very grateful). Towels and bedding were all very old and some slightly stained, but nothing too offensive. Rooms were "cleaned" every few days, basically towels were hung up to dry for you and bed made to look presentable, but not much more than that. The maids were lovely though! When we arrived we found a dirty, recently unpleasantly stained bed sheet screwed up and put in the bottom of the wardrobe, throughout the whole week this was not removed even having reported it to reception. But that would be my only complaint. This hotel is very basic, but you get what you pay for. Great location too, between town and sand dunes and walking distance to both. I’d go back.

If you’re not a fan of the neon lights and chinese/steak places catered to the English, then head down to the harbour for food. Some great tapas and fish to be found.

Good location

Friendly, helpfull staff.Quiet location, might be bit too far from main hustle & bustle for some people, but we preferred it this way.Shopping centre with supermarket 5 minutes walk.

Traveller's tip on dining

Loads of restaurants around harbour area with great food.Shop around for prices.Check opening times.

2nd time around - what a dissapointment !

Overlooking wheelie bins, emptied at 4am and wheeled back by staff at 7am every day. Overlooking waste ground and the new police station cells. Noise galore! Basic accommodation, only go if you get a room at the back of the complex! And if you are prepared for broken sleep!

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Take a mini cool bag to the beach as the drinks and snacks can be quite pricey. The supermarkets sell them for less than 2 euro, and it’s a best buy, given the saving you’ll make. We saved a fortune taking a picnic.
