For a short stay - excellent. Most impressive views over harbour

Not really a holiday hotel - more of a commercial hotel. There were few staff but they were very helpful & worked hard. Because the hotel was high up above the harbour, the views were fabulous - the downside being it was a good walk down to town & harbour so taxis were a must to get back up to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best selection we have ever seen

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Mahon is the 2nd largest natural harbour & therefore attracts many cruise ships that call for the day. It also has very interesting little streets & good shops. The restaurants along the harbour side especially those serving fresh fish are excellent. Bring comfortable shoes - from the harbour the only way is up & there are loads of steps!

Business Hotel trying to Appeal to Tourists - Fails

The first room given smelt of chlorine - it was in the basement near the pool. We changed rooms to one on the first floor which was adequate but no balcony. The shower broke and it took two complaints and 48 hours to repair. The spa (jacuzzi etc) was closed for "maintainance" and so was not available as a facility. Breakfast was OK but one night we ate dinner in the hotel and it was quite simply the worst meal ever had in Spain. The pool is edged by grass and will become muddy if used. Basically it was like staying in Faulty Towers EXCEPT the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The walk to town is about 10 mins and not too nice. The hotel would be good for maybe two nights to see Mahon but not more - be aware that sound insulation does not seem to have been included in the construction of the building.
