Not Impressed with additional charges - be forewarned
We were looking for a self catering appartment in the Val D’Isere area for as cheap as possible. We made the decision for the apartment choice based mainly on price. However upon arrival at the hotel we found out we would have to pay a number of other additional charges. Some we expected and some you would expect to come included in the price already paid. I think we had to pay for: Tourist Tax - Expected this Heating? Water? A cleaning service after we leave? Linen - Been stung with this one before in the Alpes but if we had known beforehand would have brought our own. These charges added up to an additional 20% of the price paid. The hotel itself was ok and the location was right next to the slopes and lifts of La Daille with a small shopping center enclosed in the complex making getting bread and milk in the mornings convenient. Overall the apartment was fine and what you would expect for this price range in the Alpes but the additional charges left a sour taste in the mouth
