Great location on the boardwalk.
High quality accommodations on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Stayed here over 4-day weekend and only used our car twice. Free self-parking in garage across the street connected by covered walkway. Next to Neptune Park and small stage where live music played close to the hotels outdoor bar and seating area. Only one complaint -- the hotel staff didnt give us complete information at check-in and it took some digging to discover that they provide free towels for the beach and a free token for renting a beach chair each day. Overall this was our best-ever VA Beach vacation.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Dont buy anything before stopping at hotel activity desk and getting a free coupon book for discounts at numerous local stores and attractions. Irish pub 1-block away gives $5 off your bill with a coupon. The Jewish Mother restaurant also one block away is great for lunch but dont go there for looking for a quick breakfast -- very good food and ample quantities but kitchen was very slow.

Did not meet Hilton Standard
We stayed at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront for two days at the beginning of Labor Day weekend. The location is great, right on the beach. But the rooms were small. We paid extra to be on the club level, so expected bigger/better rooms. It was not worth the money. The indoor pool heating element was broken, so the pool was cold. The weather that weekend was cold, windy and rainy...we knew it would be, so we specifically choose a hotel with an indoor pool. But it could not be fixed until the next day, so we were not able to use the pool at all. On our second night, from about 10pm to 12:30am, there was someone banging with a hammer in the room right above us. We tolerated it for that long, thinking it would stop anytime now. But it lasted for 2.5 hours. When we called down to the front desk, they said they would look into it, but no call was given to report or apologize. The banging did stop after a few minutes, so that was sufficient at the time. But upon check out, when we informed them of this issue along with the pool issue, no reimbursement or compensation was offered, just an akward smile.
