Goood Hotel, poor restaurant for evening meals
Good hotel in one of best points on Garden Route, but restaurant could do with improvement

Good but Could do more
The Hotel is in a great location with good facilities. It was let down in our opinion by the shoddy service in some areas. It was impossible to get a coffee in the bar after coming back from dinner out, for example. I think the problem is the number of people who are there for one night only on organised tours means the majority of vistors dont need high levels of service as they are in and out over a night. The number of people on tours can have an impact at breakfast time. You don’t want to be having breakfast at the same time as a couple of tour buses which are about to leave. Overall we were satisfied but with the great facilities and location a little bit of attention to the service levels could make this a fabulous place to stay rather than an average one.

In need of refurbishment
Reception was functional. Staff were polite but not welcoming. After being allocated a room not much bigger than a shoe box (143) an acceptable alternative was offered (263). This room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was in need of refurbishment. The shower sprayed water onto the window. As a result the window mechanism had rusted through and the window could not be closed. The hotel is not disabled friendly. The bar and restaurant are located on the first floor as are a lot of the rooms and there is no lift. Due to the layout of the hotel most rooms are a long walk from reception. Food was good and staff were friendly and accomadating.
