Not what we expected but it grew on us.
The pictures made this hotel look much nicer than it was exterior wise. We were a little dissapointed when we got there, it’s old and needs new paint and decor in the rooms. Our sink was in bad condition. But the room was very clean and had comfortable beds, best we’ve had in a hotel! Also, the location was prime! Next to the best places to eat in town and without being on the shore, this seem to be the only hotel that had a view of the lake! They had bicycles to use, nice pool and hot tub, and the staff was very very nice and knowledgable of the area. So because of the location and amenities, I would recommend this place. If your looking for a new updated room then no way.
Traveller's tip on dining
All the nearby places were best in town, Bear Beach Cafe for breakfast, English Pub restaurant for dinner, and local favorite Freshies for lunch (fish tacos are the best). Highly recommend all three!

Problems with wireless
One of the reason I picked up this hotel was high-speed wireless they advertised. However from my room (far side of the "pool" building) I often could not connect at all, or connection was slow. The same laptop connects to wireless in my home just fine. Fortunately there was a computer with printer in hotel lobby, which I used to print my boarding pass etc.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dining: I recommend Bear Beach Cafe which is next to the hotel. Local attractions: Emerald Bay is beautiful.

Best place in South Tahoe
We had a great time. The location is fantastic. I especially liked using the bikes. We walked everywhere, even Safeway close by. Bowling close. The fireworks for Sept long weekend were amazing, could see them outside room, the fed us hotdogs and gave us warm blankets and chairs. The beach is right across the street. Good coffee in lobby all morning. Good size fridge in room. Away from casino but still close. We had fun, I’d return and stay there again and already have recommended to others.
