Just returned from a week at Hotel Cordial and was extremely impressed both with the hotel and the resort. Many of the rooms are built round courtyards featuring water features on a grand scale and the kind of plants you might have in your front room although, in this case, they are forty or fifty feet tall. The hotel is very large and spread over a wide area but they’ve been careful not to give it a uniform or corporate feel by using different styles, colours, tiles etc. Food was excellent with a wide choice and friendly staff. Other facilities in the hotel are also excellent and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Didn’t enjoy the entertainment much but some people did. We tended to sit in the foyer and listen to the piano or sax player or go down to the harbour for a drink. We spent an afternoon in the spa which I would also recommend. Puerto de Mogan itself is very pretty and only a few minutes walk away. Plenty of bars and restaurants but no clubs (at least, I don’t think so) so it was very peaceful with a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel and resort seem to attract a variety of nationalities with no one nationality dominating. This made the whole place seem much more welcoming and cosmopolitan and was a definite plus factor. The final positive was the weather - absolutely perfect with sunshine every day but not too hot.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Our flight left in the middle of the night so we checked out at 12 noon the day before. This was no problem as the hotel provides an excellent suite of courtesy rooms with beds, showers, plenty of clean towels and even reading material in a small lounge area. All this was at no extra charge.

Extremely nice hotel

My wife and I are seasoned travelers and have stayed at all sorts of hotels and motels. I was not sure what to expect in a small fishing village in the Canary Islands but this was a very pleasant surprise. The Cordial matches up with the best hotels in major urban locales . The setting is spectacular with cliffs towering 500 feet or more behind the hotel. It is large and well equipped. The room was up to date and the internet service was amazingly good in the business center. The staff was actually very helpful and willing to try hard to please the guests. The food was very good, not great but they were serving buffet style and serving hundreds of people so that is to be expected. This is a great hotel.

This hotel is in a lovely location in its own gardens, food is excellant as are all the facilities including the spa which is free to use-we will be back..
