not my first time here and would be my first choice again
it is excellent value in a very nice part of the town

Basic
Reasonable location adjacent to docks, four U-Bahn stations from Hamburg main rail station. Staff friendly. Room very basic, reminiscent of university hall of residence ("dorm" for Americans) accommodation. Shared bathrooms. Little noise insulation - I overheard snoring from next door, and every time a door shut it echoed through the building. Overall, okay for a cheap overnight stay, but would be a very poor choice for a romantic weekend.

Economical but not the greatest
The hotel is in a great and convenient location--in the Portuguese quarter near the Harbor and metro accessible. Can’t beat the price. The hotel is quite nosey and if you want to sleep in--forget it. Housekeeping is banging around and vacuuming around 9-10am. If you are a non-smoker make sure that you are in a room that does not have the stentch of tobacco. With exception to one person (who was extremely helpful), the customer service is very mediocre. The exceptional person upgraded me to a better room after I complained about the noise.
