What a Terrific Location
After a full day of travel crossing the Atlantic, arriving at this gem of a hotel was a breeze. The location, in the heart of the "old quarter" of Zurich, would be hard to beat. Restaurants, shops, museums, trams, and boats are right outside the door. The staff was always helpful and enthusiastic about helping. Breakfast was bountiful with an array of choices. The room was sparkling and "Swiss-like" furnished. My wife and I wold return here in a heartbeat.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
By all means take the train from the airport to the main train station and then the tram (#4 or #15) which goes to the door of the hotel. My wife and I spent $40 on the airport shuttle and it was a big waste.

Peace and Quiet in Zurich
Helmhaus Hotel is comfortable, quiet, very clean and stylish. The buffet breakfast was wonderful, especially the fresh fruit salad, panettone and home-made jam. The bed was extremely comfortable and surprisingly large for a single room. The bath was also a good size, and hot water was plentiful. It helped us enormously to be able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checking out, as we didn’t have to be at the airport until 5.30pm. I would definitely stay there again if I returned to Zurich.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
You don’t have to spend a fortune in Zurich. Visit the Fraumunster, the Grossmunster and St Peter’s Church. Relax and enjoy the view at the Lindenhof. Stroll down to Lake Zurich and contemplate the scenery. It is delightful.

Good Hotel
Given the high prices of hotels in Switzerland, this hotel offered reasonable value for the money. The room was larger than most, with nice bathroom. Breakfast was simple but good quality. Hotel staff was friendly.
