Annecy Airport Hotel Solution and Cheapish Annecy Lodging
Friendly staff, reasonable breakfast, small but comfortable room, astonishingly quiet, easy to find, lots of free parking, really close to the motorway and to the airport. Only 20 mins from Annecy lake. A convenient choice also if you are travelling on to Geneva airport, which is less than an hour’s drive from here (it took us only 45 minutes or so). NB: several web sites place this hotel somewhere several miles away! In fact it is located right next to Annecy airport, on the north-east side, near Metz-Tessy.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Thoroughly recommend the Gorges du Fier (near Lovagny) - only 20 mins drive from the hotel. There’s a 25m high walkway suspended for 250m inside a narrow 70 metre deep gorge. Exciting and beautiful! My 5 year old loved it, and the trains passing regularly were an added attraction. There’s a nice restaurant serving locals with frog’s legs (and other more appealing fare) just before you enter the gorge site entrance. The Chateau de Montrottier a few hundred metres away is also lovely.

Handy stop over
The Campanielle chain is known for its good value budget accomodation. This hotel is no exception. The lady in reception was friendly and helpfull. the rooms were simple but comfortable and clean. A good budget hotel handy for a stop over on your way to the ski slopes. The Town of annecy is an intresting stop over with a very pretty town centre anmd the driove along the lake is very pretty.
