Good stop-over hotel

Well positioned for the motorway, but quiet and does what it advertises.

Dijon hotel

This hotel was nothing special, though we did not utilize either dinner or breakfast. It was not overly-costly nor especially convenient. In a word, it was all "reasonable." We used at least 15 different hotels during our recent tour of Europe and this one did provide one of the best beds for our third member. Free parking was another benefit. Lastly, the hotel was not easily found on GPS; so adjustments would be recommended.

WHERE TO STAY IN DIJON

It has a good restaurant, and like all Campanile hotels offers a generous cold buffet menu, but prices have risen considerably since we last stayed at a Campanile in Nanterre. Will consider a different hotel chain next time with more competitive rates. It is a pity the airport at Dijon can’t be accessed from England. That would be a great time saver.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Buses plentiful: flat fare of 1 euro, and you can use the ticket AGAIN provided JOURNEYS completed within an hour of issue. It is a 2 mile walk into centre of Dijon. Nothing much to see in St. Apollinaire. Large shopping centre at Quetigny about 1 mile south east. Cheapest petrol is at the Carrefour supermarket. We chose the hotel knowing there is ample car parking, and used it as a base for visiting university. In France beer is expensive, so a bottle of wine shared between two is recommended.
