Good value
This was a wonderful hotel in a clean, modern style with many ammenities. The only problem was that it was very noisy. No where was I warned that the hotel was expanding and that there would be construction noise. And while each room has beautiful marble floors, you could hear every sound in every other room -- including couples fighting, etc. A very nice place that is perfectly situated, with a good staff and a good value for the money -- but bring ear plugs!

Traditional building, modern interior
We were most impressed with the hotel; the staff were friendly and the room decor was tasteful. Our room was one of the smaller ones but it was fine and the ensuite a good size. Overlooking the street but it was still relatively quiet. The location was very handy, only about 5 mins walk from Placa Catalunya, and the Urquinaona metro station. Breakfast was buffet and good quality. We prefer to stay in traditional buildings so this was a good compromise with the comfort of the modern interior.
Traveller's tip on dining
The Barri Gotic is the area to try, especially in March! elsewhere was a bit quiet/empty. The restaurant across the road from the hotel was completely empty, food OK.
