cheap but...
It is cheap and still seen as the one of the best hotels in sofia but is crying out for a refit

Good value
The Kempinski offers good value for money. It shows as a 5 star hotel but it lacks a few things to justify this rating. For example the airconditioning was not functioning during my stay, with an outside temperature of 32-33C this would have been welcome. Also the breakfast was not of the standard that you would expect from a 5 star rated hotel. But then again, the price was also lower than the usual 5 star rated hotels, therefore I certainly would recommend travellers to stay here. By the way a very nice fitness and Spa facility.

LAID BACK SERVICE FOR A 5* HOTEL
BOOKED INTO AN OLD ROOM. RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE STAYING AT THIS HOTEL THAT YOU ASK FOR ONE OF THE REFURBISHED ROOMS. MY AIR CON DID NOT WORK WELL AY ALL, THE WINDOW CURTAINS KEPT BREAKING, THE TAPS IN THE BATHROOM WERE HARD TO OPEN AND CLOSE (DUE TO NON MAINTANACE, NO IRON/BOARD. WHEN REQUESTED HOUSEKEEPING STATED THEY DO NOT HAVE IRONS, BUT THEY IRON FOR YOU. AT CIRCA 5 POUNDS A SHIRT, NOT REALLY GOOD FORM. GOOD LOCATION MADE UP FOR THIS.
