Great choice for visiting Rio

We prefer to experience a foreign culture as close as possible. This hotel was a perfect choice. It is simple but clean and in a busy neighborhood with lots of good restaurants and street cafes that the cariocas like to visit (and that are recommended by "lonely planet") offering original brazilian and other food and beverages. The beach is across the street (albeit not recommended for swimming) but the coolest was the bus stop a minute walk from the hotel. Busses will take you from there anywhere you wish including the international airport. The metro station is a 10 minutes walk away. If we ever visit Rio again, we will sure stay there again.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Take the bus! We felt perfectly safe, it’s only 2 reals ($1), and it’s an adventure in itself!

Think twice as you get what you pay for

Stayed here for the first 8 days of our most recent Rio trip.It was very cheap but was close to where our son lives.Looks good on the outside and looks good in the lobby but the room are very tired and in need of a make over. But the price was a quarter of what we paid in Baha.

50 yards away at the end of the street is The Garota Excellent value and very friendly.
