You get what you pay for

I needed a place to stay and booked the cheapest place in Cheyenne. The place is fairly old. The noise was pretty bad in that it is on a busy street. There was an AC over the door that was also loud and drowned out a lot of the noise. They have wireless internet, but because of the brick construction it didn’t work from my room. Even with all of this I was ok with it for the price. However, they still use keys. That made me nervous.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

There is a Mexican resturant on the ground floor. I didn’t eat there, but it was busy. There is a Subway sandwich place directly across the street. Also, there is a theater about a block away.

Right downtown in walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

The Hotel is older and shows some wear and tear, but is still OK. Very solid walls and floor/ceiling so the rooms were very quiet. Also had the best rate of all the hotels in the area, even the ones outside the city close to the highway. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Needs improvement

The staff was super nice and helpful but the hotel is in serious need of updating. The air conditioning was an after thought. The extension cord hang down from the ac above the door. Keys didnt work. The best part was the toliet sounded like a cow mooing (how fitting for frontier days). We were able to see the frontier days parade from the balcony without having to fight the crowd. For the price of a 5 star hotel in Denver this was not even a 1 star. Hope they make some improvements.
