very good value and centrally siuated
This hotel is a good find in a crowded city. Its clean safe and the staff are great. For example I have special dietry needs and they were happy to cook my UK purchased oats for me each morning. Easy to walk to main attractions from here too. If you decide you cannot afford the 5* options you will be fine here.
there are several good, clean resturantrs near by serving Indian Italian or Japanese food.

Exceeded expectations
As this was our first trip to India we had imagined the hotels would be very basic but the Residency was great. The location is excellent - walking distance to the Gateway of India and Victoria station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The room was small but had everything we needed including a hairdryer, which I didnt see anywhere else on our trip! A good mid-range hotel.
Have dinner in the hotel restaurant - the food is good and not too pricey. If you are prepared to pay more for meals, the Gaylord is a must.
