Vila Sol Algarve, a Renaissance Spa and Golf Resort

Thoroughly Enjoyable.

This was an extremely well run hotel with very good facilities and staff which made for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. It would be advisable to have the use of a car because the actual hotel is quite a way from local area attractions.

If your a golfer - heaven. If not there are plenty of other things to do.

ok for non golfers

We are non golfers but wanted a week’s holiday somewhere hot, but not as hot as the med, somewhere easily accessable from the uk and somewhere at a sensible price. The hotel Vila Sol delivered exactly what we wanted. Even a standard room, which has adequate but bland decor, has an above average bathroom and a large balcony which makes you want to use it. The breakfast buffet was superb and in 7 days we never had exactly the same breakfast twice, and eating on the terrace in the sunshine was lovely. Unlike some golfing hotels, golfers and golfing were not in your face which made the ambience much more relaxing. But best of all were the staff, nearly all of whom were helpful and friendly. When checking out the hotel manager came to say goodbye and make sure that we had a pleasant stay. How often does that happen? A good attitude from the top results in a good attitude all the way down and at the Vila Sol it shows. Any bad points? Yes, we tried the evening buffet at the Green Pines restaurant once. It was ordinary and we did not go back a second time. Also its position will not suit those who want to walk out of their hotel and into the centre of Vilamoura, but the hotel’s own minibus service and a couple of taxis meant that was not a problem for us.

In much of the Algarve, and Vilamoura and the Hotel Vila Sol are no exception, there’s not much to indicate that actually in Portugal. Therefore, we recommomend a visit to nearby Loule which has real Portugese character. We went on a Saturday morning when there is a flea market and a fish and produce market in Loule’s charming market hall. We were even treated to a local saint’s day parade.

Best Hotel in Vilamoura

Quiet location set on the Vila Sol Golf Course. Very friendly staff providing excellent customer service.The hotel is 5 years old and only has 52 guest rooms. We had a specific need for a disabled friendly bathroom and couldn’t have made a better choice. Great sports facilities and lovely outside pool and gardens. Lacked Tea and Coffee facilities in room but apart from that it is difficult to find fault.

The hotel is 5 mins by car or taxi to Vilamoura marina where you are spoilt for choice in styles and types of restaurant.
