Principe - A convenient and comfortable hotel.
We only had one nights stay here but it was very comfortable and convenient, being within easy walking distance of the train station and the bus station at Piazzala Roma. The room was comfortable, not large but adequate, and with an excellent TV. The bathroom was clean with full facilities (hair dryer, tissues, etc), but the bathtub was designed for sitting in making it a little awkward for us to shower in. There was air conditioning in the room but, as it was November, it wasnt on. We enjoyed fresh air from the open window, the downside of which is having to put up with the noise of people in the street below and the noise of boat engines until very late at night, as well as receiving a wake-up call from the church bells at 7:00 am. The decor is a bit old and in need of freshening up in places. The breakfast was excellent - a good selection from which to choose - and the restaurant was a good size, very clean and well presented.

Nice hotel
Quiet, clean, good service, good breakfast. Near train station and quieter parts of Venice. Fairly long walk to San Marco but exploring along the way is part of the experience. Would recommend the hotel.

Very Disappointed
The Hotel property is adequate - small rooms, but clean. The location, on the Grand Canal, is handy. The bell staff are very helpful, but it stops there. There was a restaurant on premises, but after breakfast, there was no food available to the hotel guests, due to a private party, until well into the evening. The Front Desk Managers, there were two, were matter of fact to the point of being rude. They offered little or no help when we had transportation problems until pressed, and even then did not explain our alternatives; causing us to spend much more than necessary to get to our destination. Their disinterest was apparent with everything, including the fact that my camera was stolen off the front desk in front of them where I inadvertently left it for 15 minutes. They showed no concern and made no attempt to help find it. Their interaction with us was no different than that of any of the other guests that I observed.
