The perfect location and a very reasonable rate
I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Kalvin House. The location was perfect for my stay. Steps from the metro or tram, a block from the Central Marketplace and convenient to all the tourist stops. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was good sized, and simply furnished. The breakfast was fine for starting your day. I will stay at Kalvin House again on my next visit to Budapest.
You cannot beat Autumn for a visit to Budapest.

Great location
I found this to be the ideal location for sightseeing in Budapest. Easy to get around the city and I found the staff to be very helpful. Room is basic but clean - typical of older European hotels, but charming. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing fancy. I usually had a light bite there then stopped for a cappucino and roll outside. Be sure to check out the Market next to the hotel for great baked goods. I’d stay here again.

Lovely but simple hotel
This hotel is in a very good location: convenient for the metro and an easy walk for many of the main sights. It is located near two main streets that are full of restaurants but is itself in a quite side street with minimal noise. The hotel receptionists were exceedingly helpful and speak fantastic English. The room was very large with comfortable beds and a practical bathroom. The rooms are basic but clean. There is no air conditioning but a fan was provided. Breakfast is simple but plentiful. An excellent budget stay.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Use the bus and underground to get from the airport to the centre of Budapest. It is very easy and far cheaper than an airport transfer.
