Short Business stay
Comfortable hotel with very friendly, helpful and professional staff. 24 hour security on the door which is a bonus. The breakfast was good, and well stocked and there’s a small but fairly nice bar in the hotel too. No food in the evenings, but there is a small kitchenette in each room and plenty of restaurants around for dining out. I’d stay again.
Traveller's tip on dining
For a fantastic evening meal, try Butcher Boys grill restaurant, it’s a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel and the meat there is fantastic! Avoid the monkey gland sauce though! But you must try Castle lager, refreshing on a hot day.

Great Hotel in a Great Location
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel in Umhlanga Rocks. The location is perfect being just 2 blocks or so from the beach, and a short drive away from the Gateway mall where you’ll find plenty of shopping, eating, and entertainment. My only complaint is that they were having trouble with the WiFi system during my stay, but that’s just be a temporary issue.

value for money
Have stayed here twice already. The Hotel is friendly and welcoming. 24 hr security parking. Rooms are equiped with a small kitchen so you can either have take away or eat out. The air con can be quite noisy but you need it in the summer months. Umhanga Rocks is a very good, safe place to stay unlike Durban. It has sand, sea and shops. Lots of expat UK with places to eat to suit European tastes. Try local foods there are good value for money.
