do not take a room overlooking the tennis courts, it is noisy.

Unbeatable location in the heart of town
Villa Paradiso is old but well preserved and comfortable. The staff are efficient and helpful but a bit stand-offish. The location is superb, close to the centre and the Greek Theatre (if you are 65+ take your passport with you to get in free). It’s not cheap but it’s worth the extra - and pay a bit more for a room with a view (not a great view but better than a room facing onto the busy street). Parking in central Taormina is non-existent and the hotel has room for only three cars outside so you need to use the nearby garage at 16 Euros per night - expensive but safe and efficient. The rooftop restaurant has great views of the sea and of Etna but don’t bother with it after breakfast. There’s a wide choice of better eating within 5 minutes walk.
Don’t miss Etna or the Alcantara Gorge. Both easy to drive to but excursions also available at a price.
