Not a place to work

As I needed to do work (I went for a conference at the university), the major inconveniences to me were not having a table and a comfortable chair to sit. The main advantage was, besides the price, the location (near the historical centre and very close to two of the most charming neiborhoods, Alfama and Chiado) and the easy access to public transportation. Otherwise Duas Nacoes is a quite plain, uncharismatic, place. Although I did not expect much, the breakfast was disappointing. It starts a bit late (8:00am) if you have things to do that day and by 8:15 all there was usually left was coffee and bread (and maybe some milk)--and I was not there during any particular holiday (it was the third week of October). Of the four nights I spent there, three of them I was awaken by the noises and conversations of other travelers. The atmospher inside recalled a bit a youth hostel.

Lisboa

Hotel as stated in many a review is slap bang in the heart of Lisbon, the plus point of this is that your not far away from the attractions, sea front and public transport. The slight downside is that it’s noisy if your on the 1st floor as we were. But we knew this before we went and had no quarms with the outcomes. Overall for the price you can’t go wrong.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Don’t expect much from Europes biggest Aquarium so your not as disappointed as me and my friend were. You can see almost all the sites in 1 and half days, and they mostly all have graphite on them!

Great location

The situation of this hotel is great. We could walk out the door and be in the midst of the goings on in Lisbon. Within easy distance to the train station, trams and buses. Rooms small but comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly, the only minor disappointment was the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
