Well worth considering
We enjoyed our 5day/4night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms large and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was simple but more than adequate to start the day. The rooms could be a little noisy around 10/11 pm for a short while whilst dustbins were emptied and streets cleaned. The hotel is very easy to access from both the bus and railway station as its only 200m from each and transport is cheap, regular and covers most of the island. It is also ideally situated to explore this lovely city. We hope to return in the very near future to explore of this gem of an island.
Traveller's tip
We visited the archaeological park in Catania. Absolutely stunning If you hire a car avoid driving in Catania at all costs. It is uncontrolled chaos!

Clean, helpful hotel with parking in beautiful Syracuse
This hotel has a rather old fashioned feel to it, is easy to find from the motorway (as long as you ignore the Expedia directions to "Syracuse sud", which does not exist and sent us many miles out of our way as the next junction after Syracuse was closed) has helpful staff and is easy walking to the Ortygia area and all the main sights. Breakfast was sparse, in common with all the hotels in Sicily we visited, but was a long way from the worst!
Traveller's tip on local attractions
All of Syracuse is magic. Boat trips can be startling/exciting (ours required us to lie flat on the floor to get under the low bridge). Motorway driving is mostly fine but towns are an interesting experience.....Give Catania a miss if short of time but dont miss Noto, a perfect place.

would certainly stay there again
From arriving to departing everything ran smoothly. Our request for a twin smoking room was met, as was our request for parking. Breakfast was good, room was comfortable and well maintained and the staff were most accommodating and helpful. Altogether, a most enjoyable stay in Syracusa.
Traveller's tip on dining
Only slight negative issue would be that the majority of eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel offered mainly pizza and snack type food. There is a well stocked Spar supermarket close by for all your requirements.
