Parador De Santo Domingo De La

Located on the Pilgrim's Route to Santiago de Compostela, the Parador Santo Domingo de la Calzada Hotel is right next to the cathedral in the historic centre of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, which is located in the famous wine growing region of La Rioja . The cathedral is particularly interesting as it was founded by St Dominic for pilgrims and is a site of National Historic Interest. The Parador Santo Domingo de la Calzada started life out as a pilgrims hospital in the 12th Century and still retains many of the building's original architectonic features, such as its coffered ceilings, Gothic stone arches and even the odd canopy bed. Nowadays this 4 star hotel is a great base for tourists and wine lovers wanting to explore the La Rioja and its world-famous vineyards. While you are a guest at this luxury La Rioja hotel, you can enjoy all of this rural region's gastronomic delights in the restaurant , including red peppers stuffed with black pudding and a glass of Rioja red wine. There are also 2 conference suites , the Salón Doncellas and Salón Gallo y Gallina , which are fully equipped for meetings of between 50 and 120 people.
