Catalunya Hotel
The Catalunya is a modern 4 Star hotel located in front of the tourist port in the beautiful town of Alghero within walking distance of the old town. The hotel boasts one of the nicest views over the old town and over the harbour. All the rooms have air conditioning; colour TV; minibar; safe and bathrooms with hairdryer. The Restaurant on the first floor can accommodate up to 200 people and it is famous for its delicious local and international food. A sandy beach is available for guests located approximately 1 km from the hotel and a free shuttle service is provided. The hotel has a conference centre with 4 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 400 people. Additional information; Children age 2 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children over this age will be considered an adult and receive a 30 pct discount on the per person rate. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number

Very much a ’city’ hotel!
The hotel is set off the main harbour road which can be extremely busy, although we did stay in August. Our room overlooked the harbour and promenade which is very pretty at night and road noise wasn’t as bad as we’d anticiated on the whole.The hotel is spotlessly clean and probably modern to Italian standards. We missed having a balcony and the walk to the area of allocated beach is a good 20 mins away.The bus service to the beach seemed a little non existent!!Overall, a great holiday and Alghero has lots of hidden character that we discovered as the week passed.

Take time to settle into the resort and explore the lots of cobbled streets behind the old port with it’s bars, eateries and gelaterias!!

Good base for a short break
Convenient location close to the old town and harbour. The suite on floor 8 was good with a double balconies that caught the sun all day. Good views of the old town, the park/gardens and the harbour. Pleasant room even if the decoration was not very subtle. Breakfast OK. Very helpful staff at Reception.
