An unexpected bagain during unfavorable Dollar - Euro exchange rate
This hotel is an unexpected bargain for those without Euros, and at the same time it is a very clean hotel with all room emenities and polite staff. It is the best bargain near Heidelberg, Mannheim, the Bergstrasse and the Odenwald The trade-off is that you need to have a rental car --- the bus takes more than an hour to Heidelberg and the train (15 minutes walking distance) goes to Mannheim --- you have to change trains there to get to Heidelberg. Also, there is no swimming pool in the hotel and breakfast costs extra. Still, it is an amazing bargain. If you come by car from Frankfurt Airport, take the A5 autobahn south, and then switch to the A6 Autobahn as you pass Darmstadt. Get off the A6 Autobahn at the Hockenheim exit, turn left from the exit ramp and then immediately turn right into the McDonald parking lot --- the hotel is right there.

You will save more than a few bucks for this clean and friendly hotel near Heidelberg --- especially families on a tight budget. You will need a rental car. Then you can plan your daily trips from the hotel with your family.

a decent hotel with an internet cafe, mcdonalds a great chinese and subway nearby. Be prepared from noise from the racing track across the road....only if you open your window.
