Beautiful getaway place!

Our getaway was even better that expected. Ours was the "Havana" room, it was beautiful with a fantastic hot tub situated so we could watch movies while we soaked and relaxed. The bed was very comfortable and the fluffy robes a nice touch, but best of all was ordering the breakfast to be delivered to the room as part of the deal. At checkout we were invited to tour the other theme rooms which were amazing especially the "Camelot" and "Monte Cristo" suites. A wonderful escape and very well priced through Expedia.

As I said the sheer choices for shopping are amazing, also the Kansas Speedway is right there for car racing fans.

Very Enjoyable Evening

Perfect overnight stay for relaxation and romance. Excellent service - be just to order the late night dessert! Probably a bit overpriced for a several night stay but for one or two nights it was excellent. Great service from the front desk as well.

Romantic getaway

Great hotel. would have been out of our price range at regular price. With the hotels.com price it was affordable for our prehoneymoon getaway. Will definitely stay again. Hopefully their quality stays the same.

Outstanding hotel

Chateua Avalon was an unexpected treasure. It was beautiful and very romantic with extra large whirlpools tubs in each room and a delicious breakfast brought to your room every morning. We loved it and will return again and again! We have alredy told our friends and family about this wonderful place.

A Fantasy Hotel

It was everything and more that we wanted. We went for 2 nights to celebrate our 27th anniversary and had an amazing time! The room was fantastic and the service was outstanding. The hotel employees are wonderful, friendly, helpful and quick to meet your every need. The entire chateau is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are such fun! We look forward to returning each year from now on! Can’t wait to try the Camelot room!

Can’t wait to go back

Not your typical hotel. With themed rooms and a sauna bathtub, this little secluded gem is the perfect get away for couples looking for romance or individuals just looking to relax.

This hotel is right next to the Kansas Speedway Race Track and just down the street from the Legends Outdoor Shopping Center, Cabalas, and Restaurants galore.

Gtreat Value

We spent our 18 yr anniversary here. never doing anything special before I decided to take my wife there after getting rave reviews from 2 different people that have stayed there before. First impression was that it does not look very big from outside. But once inside it was quite amazing. We stayed in the Buckingham room. Loved the set up and of course the challenge to find the bedroom!!!!! Well definitly be on a list to visit again!!!!! Go ahead and spring for some of the "indulgences" , they will make the stay even more special

Fun place to stay but watch for hidden costs

The hotel was neat, but we were charged an additional $25 per night that we did not find out about until arrival at the hotel. At this point, it was too late to change the arrangement, and because of this we will not be returning to an otherwise lovely place.

Awesome Room

Although it was awkward taking a shower in the middle of the room, it was so unique and a lot of fun. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will be going back.

Can’t wait to go back

Chateau Avalon was everything we expected it to be and more. We stayed in the Mayan rain forest room and it was great. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The only problem with the room was the stairs to the jacuzzi tub made it slightly difficult to get in and out for those that are vertically challenged. We are planning another trip to Kansas City and plan on staying at the Chateau Avalon again to try a different themed room.

Not impressed

We expected romantic but the themes were very "cheezie". Great idea but the details were unimpressive and over-priced.

I did enjoy the hot tub and the cinamon roll but that’s about it.

This hotel was more than we could ask for. Breakfast in our room each morning, large and very comfortable bed. Excellent staff! This was an experience, not just a hotel stay. Very romantic and just perfect for our anniversary weekend.

Great Alternative to Big Box Hotels

Unlike most of the reviewers, my husband and I chose this hotel not for a special getaway, but as an alternative to a routine (boring!) hotel room for a 5-day stay while we were in Kansas City visiting family. The theme rooms are a hoot, the deep jetted tubs provide the perfect ending to a hectic day of family business and sightseeing, and the beds are very comfortable. Add in fantastic customer service, hot fresh coffee in the lobby, breakfast delivered to your room each morning, and a private wooded setting. Who could ask for anything more? But wait, there was more - a bottle of chilled cider on check-in, computer cables to borrow for our laptop, extra toiletries whenever we asked, huge thick towels, and easy access to the freeway into downtown.

Great Get Away!

My Wife and I stayed here for the first time. I thought, its a bit pricey, but she has always wanted to stay here so why not... When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was pleasent. We stayed in the Presidential Suite. It was awesome. It had a large sitting area, large bathroom, and the bedroom itself was larger than I expected. The big screen tv in the room was nice. We were missing our remote control when we arrived, but called the front desk and they brought a new one down within just a couple of minutes. The in-room hot tub was nice as well. The bedroom was very clean except for two small problems. Cobbwebs on the ceiling by a speaker for the surround sound system. Also, the next morning, just before check out a long bug, possibly a centepede was crawling on the bed! I didn’t tell my wife about that, because I didn’t want to ruin her perception of the place. It didn’t affect how I felt at all, it was a little gross though... Overall the service was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was served on time, hot, and best of all included in the price! The hotel was clean and very romantic. I would stay there again.

An Oasis of Comfort

I had visited the hotel’s website ahead of time, but just couldn’t believe that such a place really existed. Chateau Avalon was an absolute feast for the eyes, and dessert for my spirit. From the first greeting at the front desk, to the beautiful room prepared with little surprises of welcome, I felt so pampered and well-cared for. Strolling around the grounds on the soft summer evening brought the treat of watching the "Beaumont Fountain" changing colors as the water danced and froliced on the mermaid statues...Would I recommend Chateau Avalon?--I will be spoiled now if I have to stay any place else...

Very good

I had recently stayed here with my sister. I had planned a trip to see her since I hadn’t seen her in over a year. Well this was the hotel I picked because I liked the idea of themed rooms. And I plan on returning some day. The only thing I didn’t like was it is kinda out of the way and when I was looking for rooms I wanted rooms in Kanas City, MO and yes it’s in Kanas City but in Kanas still a very nice hotel. It is kinda pricey but well worth the money due to the friendly service and the beauty of the actual hotel.

if i could change one thing....

Only thing that I would have changed is that since we booked here online we didn’t get to choose our room. I would have paid the extra if I got the option. Thanks for the wonderful stay I am sure one day we will pay the full price to stay in some of their rooms, I was breathtaking!!
