Karumba was a terrific experience
The island is close to Male and after a long flight out we were glad to be able to get there quickly (20 mins). It also made a day trip to Male possible. The hotel was superb with a very high staff to guest ratio. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. The whole place shows great attention to detail. Dedicated sunlongers, place to wash sand off before going in your room. Several different restaurants all serving good food. We were glad we did B&B because half board means a daily buffet dinner - you can trade your spot for a 30% discount in the other restaurants - we think going B&B was an overall better deal. The SCUBA was awesome and the Dive Centre staff were great. No need to lug equipment to and from the boat, all you need to do is put your kit together on the boat. They unload and wash it all at the end of the day. The Hotel isn’t cheap but it is nevertheless good value for your money. No need to change money anything can be charged or paid in $, £ or €. Nice bar facilies and you can watch baby black tip sharks swimmin in the lagoon while you chill out over a beer or six.
Its a good tip to check the numbers of rooms before booking a hotel, unless you like crowds. Kurumba is just the right size.

Paradise is so relaxing
We were met by the motor launch at Male airport and from there the experience was a dream! The landing dock has lovely lanterns all along, but the reception and all public rooms were beautiful - open air with big fans keeping the air moving. We were welcomed into an airconditioned room for booking in, but the rest of the holiday was spent in a swimsuit on the coral sand. Room was wonderful, aircon or fan; and the bathroom - it was open to the sky!!! Restaurants were great and the food very good, though limited sandwich selection at lunch, the pizzas were perfect. No worries about food hygiene here - these are big professional kitchens. Beach loungers have room number stencilled on so you have your place in paradise assured. did Glass bottom boat to see thousands of coral reef fish; and it was easy to hire equipment for snorkelling. Go!! you’ll love it!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Relax as soon as possible by donning a swimsuit and either sunbathe (watch the fierce sun!) or get swimming. It is the best way to stay cool. We had 92 deg F in mid-January!

brilliant resort
Stayed for honeymoon. The best hotel I have ever stayed at. Great food, great room, very good staff and all very friendly. Can’t fault anything. STAY HERE!!!
