The Place to Stay in Tenerife
I visited Tenerife in April 2007. I could not bare the 4* hotel that my travel agent booked, so I used Expedia to upgrade myself to Gran Tacande. It was somewhat expensive, but definitely worth it. The hotel is modern, rooms are large and in excellent condition.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Even the 4 star hotels in Playa de las Americas center are ugly and worn out. If you want to enjoy your vacation, I suggest you choose a hotel in Playa del Duque area - this region is recently developed and hosts mainly 5 star hotels.

Most Impressive Hotel
We can definately recommend this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very large and luxurious, great views from the balcony, only stayed b & b The breakfast was very good, with a great choice to suit everyone, the bucks fizz went down very well. Eat in the italian restaurant, just below the hotel would give this a very good rating, found the hotel to be in an excellent area, lots of nice restaurants to wander round to, not the usual tacky shops and bars, but more upmarket, although quite expensive shops take plenty of Euros. Would definitely stay here again.

More of a relaxed quieter area, but only a twenty minute walk away from more busier nightlife
