Good Value
The Hotel is going through a renovation. Overall it was pretty nice. There were a few things that threw you off, like the elevator having duct tape hold up the paneling, the doors for the rooms are old looking. But overall it was a clean and comfortable stay.

Undergoing Renovation
I booked this hotel because of its being close to the airport and university and easily accessed from the interstate. The price was reasonable also. No where did it say the hotel was undergoing renovation. When I arrived I was one of the only guests in the hotel, giving the whole atmosphere a spooky feeling. Only the fourth floor was occupied with the other floors empty. The room was very clean but the furnishings were from the Reagan Era. The furniture was intact but from the motel surplus store. Pillows and linens were seemingly bought used from Motel 9, being basic clean and functional but more what you would expect from the Bates Motel. The coup-de-grace was my "wake-up" call that never happened. I explained face-to-face with the hotel night clerk that i needed a wake-up call for my early flight. She dutifully wrote down the time but feeling somewhat uneasy I called her again before retiring and she assured me of my call. In the AM, no call and unfortunately a missed flight. When I appeared at the desk in the AM the clerk checked the "computer" and stated that the call had never been logged into the apparatus. Unfortunately the Day Clerk never said "we are sorry" or showed any sign that he was remorseful for this lapse in motel duty. He simply gave a shrug of his shoulders to say "so what".
I had a business meeting in Miami Beach, an area of the country I was unfamiliar with and somewhat eager to experience. I had the weekend to explore before I was needed back at home. Miami Beach was interesting and safe but lacked some of the excitement I found in the towns further north on the gold coast. I found the people less open and friendly than in Fort Lauderdale and but the shopping was excellent along their city streets. Overall Miami Beach is for the retired and those with an alternative life style, neither catagory did I fall into.

I will definitly stay in this hotel again.
The staff is great they make everything very easy for you. They keep this hotel very clean, take care of every detail. It is very quiet and safe. Located right by the executive airport close to everything and very accessible you are not going to find another hotel like this for this price.
Traveller's tip on dining
There are no restaurants at a walking distance from the hotel you need a vehicle to find a restaurant But once you are on the road there are a lot of places to eat not even 5 minutes away and the beach is pretty close to, just drive on Commercial Blvd on east direction and you will go straight to it in less than 15 min.
