Great location, hip hotel
We stayed at the W the first weekend in October. The hotel itself is very modern and nice. There is a busy nightclub off the lobby that gets very crowded around 11pm with young hipsters. We had a room on the 6th floor which was very quiet so there were no problems with the nightlife below. The only problem we had was with the bathtub. The cold water handle was broken and even after maintenance came to our room the problem was not resolved. The main thing we missed was having a coffee maker in our room. I knew this upon booking the hotel and thought there would be many nearby cafes to walk to but this wasnt the case. We ended up going to the hotel restaurant to get coffee to go each morning and it was $5 for two tiny cups. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again. It is close to the metro and the vibe is modern and cool.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
The Square Victoria metro station in right across the street from the hotel. Buy a 3 or 7 day pass and save a lot of money. The metro is easy to use, clean and safe. The only time we took a cab was to and from the airport.

Trendy but lacking comfort
Definitely a hot spot hotel for the trendy club audience. If you are in Montreal to party this should be your home base! If its true luxury and comfort you seek, steer clear. With the exception of comfortable beds nothing else here speaks to luxury. The hotel itself feels like a mid to lower end hotel given a trendy makeover with a monocromatic color scheme and neon highlights meshed with dark IKEA faux wood furniture. The staff however was extremely helpful and attentive.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
This location has a free car service operated by the hotel that can drop guests off just about anywhere in the city. We had a group of 5 in our party and it saved us a few dollars on cab fare around town.
