Very charming place to stay - a few steps away from S Marco!

This is a very convenient place to stay in Venice and to get around it easily. Very charming hotel - we were staying in the room, I believe, already described by someone else before (even with the pictures of the room). We stayed in the far part of the hotel in the room with 2 beds and a bathroom with jacuzzi! The hotel over time purchased some adjacent buildings, that’s why there is a big part of rooms where you have to walk far from the receptionist entrance, but there is also a separate exit/entrance from that building as well, so you get to the another street right away. We only needed to walk to the breakfast room in the morning. The breakfast was good - the same choices every day, but still you have options and superb coffee! The location is great, because there is a great chance to avoid crowds in the morning and avoid lines when buying tickets to see Pallazzo Ducale or go to the top of Campanille. In the morning it is always less crowds to start exploring Venice - it is noticeable when tourists start arriving while you walk father away from S Marco. But the crowds are usually at the main routes - as soon as you step out away from it and here is the chance to see quiet, serene life of locals. Since, the hotel is near S Marco Mollo, of course, all the transportation connections are here - we went to see Lido and Murano. At least, out receptionist was speaking English very well and all questions about directions and places were always answered.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Pack light; have a comfortable shoes! Enjoy local food and wine - Valpolicella and Amarone are in every restaraunt’s list!

Wonderful location

It was very convenient and great location. Finding our room was something else! We had to be shown twice how to find it! Finally, we looked at pictures on the walls and remembered we had to go thru 2 steel doors, past two couches and past certain pictures. Beautiful room and bath. Safe in room and very good breakfast.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Take "water buses" everywhere. There is a different water bus that goes to the Airport. A water taxi costs 100 euros to the airport; the water bus (Alilguna)goes to the airport and costs only 13 euros each

Great Location

We stayed at the Hotel Panada for 3 nights, whilst attending a family wedding in Venice. The staff were very welcoming and the hotel well kept. The room was very clean, but the bathroom very small. It was also directly over the kitchens and very noisy. We were woken each morning, not by the bells of St Marks, but by load voices and clattering pots coming from the kitchens. Breakfast was reasonable for Italy, but the "orange juice" was dreadful - overwatered squash! The location of the hotel is excellant, minutes to St Marks Sq in one direction and the Rialto Bridge in the other. Overall a typical 3* hotel.
