Excellent !
A very friendly hotel, with helpful, friendly and attentive staff. Not luxurious (its a converted monastery), but clean and very comfortable and at a very good price (especially considering breakfast was included). Free wi-fi (and a couple of PCs) were available for guests use, and there is a large room where you can bring in your own food. Have already recommended this hotel to friends, and would happily go back.
Its very easy and cheap to get from Sant Agnello to Naples airport by public transport - the circumvesuviana train stops at Naples Centrale station and regular airport and normal buses run to the airport from Garibaldi Plaza just outside. If you go for the airport bus from Sorrento to Naples I would recommend going to the terminus at Sorrento station rather than from Sant Agnello (where there is a risk you wont be seen) The bus will also be slower at peak times for the next few months (until around April 2010) due to the closure of a tunnel along the Sorrento-Naples road - the journey took us 2 hours rather than the scheduled hour.

Basic but good
We were a little disappointed at first after reading it was originally a 16th century monastry and had romantic visions, but it was clean, comfortable and the family who run the hotel were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and it was handy to have 2 internet access points.

Domus Porto Salvo, SantAgnello
The hotel has an excellent location as a base for visiting Sorrento, the Amalfi coast and the antiquities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Sorrento is a 25 minute walk (there are buses too) and the Circumvesuviana is just 10 to 15 minutes walk away. We were fortunate to get a room with a view of the bay, although there was noise from a compressor in an adjoining hotel. But overall this is a very peaceful location. The room itself was adequately furnished. Personally I did not find the bed and pillow comfortable - much too hard, but my wife was fine. Breakfast was OK, but the coffee was very strange, and there was no fruit. The staff were very helpful and spoke reasonable to excellent English. Wifi provision was a big plus for me but workstations were available too.
Traveller's tip on dining
The Moonlight restaurant is less than ten minutes walk from the hotel and offers well presented, well cooked and economically priced meals with a friendly service. We went back 4 times and noticed many others making a repeat visit.
