Very disappointed
Arrived on the evening of 18 May, upgraded to a suite when checking in at reception - dont bother! No extras other than more space, not even a shower as the room had a jet bath. Still had to pay for safe, had to ask for mini bar to be opened, which then turned out to be just a fridge. Cleaning was inconistent, sometimes you got bath mat, sometimes you didnt. Had to ask to be moved as when we opened our balcony doors on the first morning, a cherry picker with two builders in it was at the same level as us, dismantling a major construction with a chain saw - so much for a week of relaxation. Overall, the hotel wasnt impressive. We should have been advised before travelling that building works were taking place and that there would be building dust everywhere and heavy noisy equipment. The hotel has got to have the worst pillows - or rather pillow! It would have been good to have 2! The reception staff were very nice, particularly Maria. Finally, they tried to bill us for movies we hadnt seen and which were recorded on their system at times when we werent in! We have always had good hotels with Expedia, and always consider the reviews before booking, maybe we were just very unlucky.
Traveller's tip on dining
Couef de Fillet is definately worth a visit - great food, wine and service. (Out of hotel, head towards beach and in the shopping area on the left). The Amber Lounge in the new shopping area is smart, nice for cocktails in the evening. The first restaurant by the beach past the Paris shopping centre is very good (groundfloor, right hand side, beachfront).

Shame about the food.
The hotel was in a good position close to shops and sea, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the service was ok if a little abrupt as seems to be the Spanish way, but the food was in our opinion very poor especialy the evening meal, we are not fussy eaters and as long as it is hot and plentyful we are easely pleased but it all seemed such a mix and match with no theme and everything that was boiled especialy the vegetables tasted of the very mineraly water which for me made them inedible and the sweets were bland and cheap. All in all we would still feel happy to recomend this hotel although we will try somewhere different next time, the resort itself is lovely.
Traveller's tip on dining
Go bed and breakfast here as the breakfast was passable and then eat out at night, we found a lovely Chinese not far away and lots of places to eat on the sea front.
