A great business hotel, good for weekends too
A great business hotel situated out of the centre of the city. Close to the beach (and the start of the Barcelona Triathlon). There is huge shopping mall (Diagonal Mar) with numerous restaurants on the other side of the street. Staff without exception were friendly, helpful and well trained. when we stayed the hotel was running an offer with soft drinks in mini bar FOC! One of those rare experiences where nothing was wrong, nothing was too much trouble (only previously experienced this in 5* Dubai hotels) Next time in Barcelona will definitely go back.
Take a taxi or tram to city centre as too far too walk. taxi rank right outside hotel.

Modern sleek hotel
Only downside to our stay was the fact the room seemed to get unbearably hot over night- air conditioning very eccentric. I noticed that although day time temps were about 70 F most of the barcelonians were wrapped up in coats scarves etc so thy are feeling the cold at this time of year - so probably like their rooms nice and hot. The other niggle is that we booked two twin rooms but got two doubles. ( After a long day and travel I did not bother to complain to reception) -in a 4 star establishment my view is that they should get it right firsrt time - they must have worked out that the two teenage brothers standing in front of them while they allocate you a room are not usually into amicable bed sharing. If I wanted to spend my time complaining I would have booked into a 2 star - I came on holiday to relax not to have to complain! The location is not in the centre of the city but that was not a problem to us as there is an excellent metro at a reasonable price. There is a metro station about a block away from the hotel. Did not eat in the hotel as the price was rather high. Hotel swimming pool was cool but fine once you got used to it - The men working on the high rise building a block or so away did get going at about 7.30 in morning so there was some noise - but this did not disturb me as I would be aiming to wake at that time anyway.
I would recommend visiting in October because from my experience it was warm enough to enjoy the sightseeing without getting heat fatigue. Summer months can be "roasting" I am told- which is fine if you want to laze on the beach but not so great if you are doing lots of walking about..

We like it.
The hotel was well maintained and clean. The front desk people were nice and friendly. We love the free drinks at the mini bar inside the room, it has free internet as well. The location was great! Just walking distance to the train stations, stores and there’s a mall right accross. It was close to the ships’ port too. We stayed here for couple of days before we board the NCL. They offer breakfast buffet for 10, not too bad compared to other places. It was really expensive to eat out especially in Tourists’ areas. Breakfast was ok, usual eggs, bacon etc. Beware of the taxis, they tend to take you to the longer routes, also they charge extra when you have luggages with you. But I guess, they said that it was normal, they automatically added 10-15 Euro extra to your meter bill. They have good train system, you can even take it to/from Airport if you don’t have a lot of luggage.
